The sycophantic gnashing of teeth and the clutching of the word "beta" is absolutely pathetic on this forum. It's actually holding back the game if you ask me because we have these ostriches with their head buried so far into the sand that they can't tell their arse from their elbow.

 Poor frame-rate? - IT'S A BETA
 Poor Graphics? - IT'S A BETA
 Poor Gun Mechanics - IT'S A BETA
 Poor Sound - IT'S A BETA

OP, I haven't had the crash bug but it's just another in a litany of things that are wrong with this game. I could go on but the drones who bleat on about "beta this and beta that" and the "go back to COD" brigade will arrive and ruin any chance of meaningful discussion. Case in point, we have a guy in this thread who believes this game has better core mechanics than BF3. I don't like BF3 very much personally, but it takes about 5 seconds to see the gulf in class between the two games.

 Anyway, you aren't missing much.

There's very little room for subtlety on this forum. I've tried, but when you are wading through post after post from bleating sheep, you have to be a little more direct.

I think it would go a LONG way towards making the community feel a bit more involved if they'd release some kind of schedule on upcoming fixes/changes to the engine.

SOE just released this list of upcoming changes to Planetside 2 yesterday.

There's just not enough feedback. The biggest concern is the awful frame-rate and I've yet to hear a dev address this issue.

It's more of a timeline thing and the lack of it makes me feel like they really don't know what to do with the shooting (most important part) aspect of the game at all.

Just confirmation of things like " Yes, the frame-rate will be greatly improved in the next build which is scheduled for release in March" etc.

I don't think any of us like not knowing when things are going to be fixed, but there is a large group of us that sees the potential of this game and I personally believe CCP will continue improving on Dust the way they have on EVE. Besides the more people they bring into Dust the more potential EVE players and it's all about making money right? I stand by my "This has never been done before" statement and am hopeful that it will turn out amazing. Most of us welcome criticism, but when you make a complaint and we give an answer (our opinion) or a generic response the solution to start trash talking everyone isn't going to get your desired response from those of us that enjoy this game.
Of course, we want it to be the next big thing. The reason I get so passionate about this is because that's never going to happen unless the fundamentals are in place.

Crm234 wrote:Its really due to the fact that every broken mechanic in dust equals complex gameplay to its die hard fans. How can you fix anything in a beta if they feel nothing is wrong with it. Bad design and poor implementation is not complex gameplay.
The other day someone was bragging what a noob , he tried to melee me in dust.

Execution type Spawning adds to the complexity of the game ha ha, drop spawn camping droplinks instead.

its complex to have horrible vehicle controls that were based off a keyboard inputs than the ps3 controller.

unbearable frame rates and lag, with tone down graphics, half the player counts, and 70 percent of the game missing.

If these were new problems than I would say give them some slack, but its the fact that its a year now with no fixes and the only thing we can say to new players is. If you think it sucks now, you should of seen it 6 months ago it was worse. Basically saying dust improves at a snail pace come back next year for a good game.

I think it of as some form of strange stockholm syndrome.

Like the game would be worse if it had the rock solid engine and game-play mechanics that BF3 offers. It's a bizarre form of defensiveness that I've only come across on this forum.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could find the frame-rate for example, to be acceptable.

Yet we have bleating sheep telling me that it's my router.

I will respond exactly how I see fit. Deal with it.

If you don't like what I have to say about how shoddy this build is then go back to pretending all is rosy in the garden. I don't care what you do, basically.

If you think I am "upset" or "throwing a tantrum", you are very much mistaken.

Cold hard facts do not a tantrum make.

I think you are getting a *tiny* bit ahead of yourself there.

I haven't flamed anyone in particular in this thread. To my knowledge, the guy who told me in game chat that the cause of the frame-rate issue was my router (and that the PS3 could outperform high end gaming PC's) isn't posting here. Unless that was you?

If you feel my post was directed at you, well, that's your problem. Nothing I said was directed at any one person, moreso at the sycophantic fanboys who seem to have no will to help make this the greatest FPS of all time.
